About
This is a self-paced online course designed to help believers grow in their walk with Christ through the practice of biblical spiritual disciplines. This course is focused on discipleship—learning how to follow Christ faithfully and consistently in everyday life. Using Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life by Donald S. Whitney as a guide, this course walks students through both personal and interpersonal disciplines found in Scripture. Students will learn not only what these disciplines are, but how God uses them to produce spiritual growth and Christlikeness. Throughout the course, students will study disciplines such as Bible intake, prayer, worship, evangelism, fasting, service, stewardship, learning, silence, and solitude. Each lesson is designed to move beyond information and toward application, encouraging thoughtful reflection, accountability, and real-life obedience. BIB101 is structured to be taken prayerfully and intentionally. Through teaching lessons, workbook assignments, written reflections, and practical exercises, students are guided to develop habits that support a steady, Spirit-led walk with God. This course is not about spiritual performance, but about positioning oneself under God’s transforming work. By the end of the course, students will have a clearer understanding of the biblical foundation for spiritual disciplines and a practical framework for continued personal spiritual growth. More importantly, they will be equipped to pursue a consistent, God-honoring walk with Christ that continues well beyond the completion of the course.
